This will be my 16 week update. Today I am 16 weeks and 3 days.
The Bump App says Lucy is..
* The size of a Avocado (4.6 inches & 3.5 ounces)
* She is listening to my voice
* She is growing hair, lashes and eye brows
* Back aches
* Growing chest
* Nails are breaking
* Dry, itchy skin
* Itchy eyes
I feel like my belly has really popped! I know I've said that before.. its just crazy seeing the difference from pre-pregnancy to now! Speaking of pre-pregnancy.. I want to do a little back story.
When I was 13, I was told I probably wouldn't be able to have kids due to endometriosis. Hearing that at 13 I was crushed. Even at a young age my dream was to be not only a mom, but a great mom. Anyone who knows me, knows having my own family has always been #1 on my list. It's just something I always knew I wanted. At that time I was placed on birth control (Let me be clear, I was not sexually active at 13, it was to help with my awful periods). I took birth control on and off up until i was 21 years old. I had started getting the depo shot....it made my hormones go nuts. I only had like 3 shots and i had to stop. I would get so upset over the smallest things and I was so depressed. A lady I worked with kept telling me it was the shots, that they were bad. I finally listened and stopped, once i did things started getting much better. She was right. I had a few cyst here and there from then to now but not to many. I still had hopes that I would still be able to have babies. I got really sick in 2012. It was a mixture of my kidneys, gallbladder, and ovaries. I ended up having to have my right ovary removed for many reasons. I was told them in order to get pregnant I would more than likely have to be put on fertility. I was upset about it, but at the same time there was still hope so we were excited. Joseph and I got married in May. We wasn't trying to get pregnant, but we wasn't preventing it either. I honestly didn't think it would happen without fertility. We are SO thankful the doctors were wrong! Lucy is such a blessing. I know some people think we should have waited a little longer to have babies, this was Gods timing, not ours. Like I said earlier, Lucy is a blessing!
This is just a short version of a long health history! lol
I guess that is all for now!
Until next time!

Hey Y’all! This will be my 15 week update!
Lucy is..* The size of a Navel Orange (4.0 inches & 2.5 ounces)
* She is squirming a ton (I have felt some flutters, still unsure if its her or not)
* She is hiccupping* She’s making lots of progress: her joints and limbs can all move now
* Nosebleeds every now and then
* Very emotional
* Weight gain total – 7 pounds
I had a check up with my midwife this week. Everything seems to be on track with Lucy. Her heartbeat sounds great; Lisa (my midwife) said I should start feeling her because she is very active. I’ve gained a total of 7 pounds at week 15, I’m expected 25-30 pounds by the end of my pregnancy. We went over “if” I were to need a c-section what would happen. I love knowing that if I have to have one she will be there with Joe and I the whole time. Dr. Ottman will do the c-section, but Lisa will be in there for Joe and me, so we will be a little more at ease. My next appointment will be my 20 week ultrasound. We ARE so excited for that!
I’m sorry this is a week late. My 16 week update will be posted in a few days with a baby bump picture!
Until next time!

Hey y’all! This is going to be a very exciting post! Its going to be my week 14 pregnancy update, gender reveal and name reveal! So, let’s get started!
Everyone knows we thought we were going to have a boy. I was dead set on it being a boy. I even started making a baby blanket for a boy! All of the old wives tales pointed to a boy, I’ve heard many times “Stratton boys don’t have girls”, and everything but my break outs made me think it was a boy. My skin has never been this bad. Everything I have tried just hasn’t helped at all. I’ve always heard “a girl steals her mother’s beauty”. This was the only thing that made me think it could be a girl.
We went to Precious Views (website) in Bowling Green to see Baby S. I am so glad we did. The lady that did our ultrasound was SO nice and made me feel at home. We had a total of 5 people (not counting me) with us and there was plenty of room. I would definitely recommend other pregnant woman go here! We will be going back around week 30!
Okay, so we are all in the room watching the ultrasound that was projected on the wall and Baby S was moving like crazy. Watching it at first I thought “it’s a girl” then “no, it’s a boy”. The lady asked if I was ready and I said yes! She then said “IT’S A GIRL!!” My mom, Joseph and myself all said “huh?!” She laughed and said “yes, it’s a girl!” Joseph’s mom, our sister-in-law and my best friend all thought it was going to be a girl so they weren’t nearly surprised as we were! I’m not sure about anyone else but I started crying. It was a happy cry though! I was just so set on having a boy, I was just so surprised! We would be just as happy if it would have been a boy. I love when God shows you HE makes the calls, not us! I wish I could explain the feeling I’ve had, but words can not describe it!
Baby had the hiccups during the ultrasound, it was so sweet to watch! She was yawning, trying to suck on her thumb, using her hand to cover her bottom, she even went to sleep at one point. It was all just so cute! When she was awake she was very active. I can’t wait to feel her move around in there!
Here are some pictures!
Her first dress!
We can stop calling her “Baby S” now and call her by her actual name, and that is… LUCY! We still aren’t 100% sure on the middle name. We have one picked out, we just want to be sure about it before we start telling people.
Growing up I always wanted to have a little girl named Sophia. When I found out I was pregnant the name Lucy just hit me and has stuck with me the whole time. The name is perfect!!!
I’m going to go ahead and do my 14 week update. I was 14 weeks on Thursday (10-30-14), I just wanted to wait till we knew the gender before I made a post!
· * The size of a Lemon (3.4 inches & 1.5 ounces
· * She is probably trying to suck her thumb & wiggling her toes
· * Her kidneys are making urine, liver and spleen are doing their jobs, too!
· * She is growing lanugo, a thin, peach-fuzz-like hair, all over her body (it keeps her warm)
I get all of this information from “the bump” app!
There really haven’t been any changes in my symptoms from last week to this week!
I guess that’s all for tonight! I hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween!!
Until next time!!
